Tolman was praised for her performance in the part of Minnesota police officer Molly Solverson. Vanity Fair stated that Tolman was "calmly sure of taking over the whole show". Tolman won a Critics' Choice Television Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress in the category of movies/ministries.
